3/4/23 Toussarok headed to Newcastle this evening for the 7f handicap. The trip here has probably just stretched him but he’s really stuck his neck out and tried, beaten only a length for third.

16/3/23 Piaff Bubbles headed to Hexham this afternoon looking to back up his Wetherby win. He’s travelled well out the back and jumped well on the main. Making up ground on the outside where he doesn’t feel as crowded given he’s a big horse, he’s jumped the second last well but stumbled on landing and Nathan did well to keep the partnership. He’s travelled away again and looked like winning easily, he’s idled in front and just been beaten on the line by a neck.

14/3/23 Devil’s Angel made his comeback this evening, the way the race developed hasn’t suited having been unable to get any cover. He’s blew up a furlong out but kept on well to only be beaten just over 3 lengths. He’ll come on for that effort.

11/3/23 Toussarok headed to Chelmsford this evening to tackle the 7f Handicap. Whilst this wouldn’t be his preferred trip he got a lovely position in front which he so desires. He’s then been headed in the final furlong but battled back and subsequently just got denied on the line. It seems seconditus has hit.

7/3/23 A quiet week without a runner but we headed to Southwell this evening with Golden Vintage. She’s done everything but win in a race where little went right for her. She’s been caught wide from her draw, they’ve gone slow then it’s turned into a sprint. She’s stayed on well and was just denied by a neck. Great to see her back on track.

24/2/23 Mint Edition ran a solid race up in class only being beaten 2 lengths. The race wasn’t ran to suit having been a slow place and he lost a front shoe. He has had three quick runs and will now have a break.

6/2/23 3 On The Bounce for MINT EDITION! Heading to wolves in search of a three timer and backing up quickly, given a brilliant ride from Callum Rodriguez he duly obliged again. A huge thanks goes to the Bethell team at home.

3/2/23 Golden Vintage & Mint Edition both headed back to Newcastle looking to back up their last time out wins.

GV had a lovely position and looked to be travelling before finding nothing when asked to pick up. She’s been a frustrating horse with different niggly issues & we will likely try her in headgear next time.

Mint Edition managed to follow up off his 5lb higher mark by again winning easily. The step up to this trip has been the making of him. We are now 4 from 6 for the year and we are delighted for everyone involved.

28/1/23 Toussarok headed to Lingfield for his first run after a 5 month break. He’ll hugely benefit from the run and ran credibly.

22/1/23 Finally Golden Vintage gets her chance so show on track what she’s always shown at home. Winning by 3 lengths she brings up our third winner from our third runner in 2023! We couldn’t have asked for a better start.

20/1/23 Another runner and another winner. Mint Edition, showed improvement for a break & stepping up to a more adequate trip, he’ll stay further again, by winning at Newcastle by three and a half lengths. A great start for our owners & members to 2023.

14/1/23 A quiet start to the year prior to heading to Wetherby this afternoon for Piaff Bubbles, the required rain fall this week was always going to play to his strengths and he duly got off the mark for us. Winning by 2 lengths and the front two pulling well clear of the third we hope this will just be the starting point for him, he’s still a big raw baby and can only continue to progress. We are also delighted that Nathan Moscrop rode his 100th winner on him an integral part of the Rebecca Menzies team.

6/12/22 After a quiet couple of weeks we were back on a racecourse this evening with Golden Vintage returning from 6 months off. Only beaten 3 lengths she made a pleasing return for which she will come on for. She’ll keep on the go over the winter on the AW.

24/10/22 Spirit Catcher rounded off his year with an excellent effort at Redcar this afternoon on second being beaten by what looks a smart horse. He was the first off the bridle and he’s really stuck his neck down all the way to the line, he’ll have a good break and be gelded now ready for next year where he’ll step up to 10f.

21/10/22 A much more pleasing effort from Mint Edition at Newcastle this evening in third. He seems to have a tendency to miss the break and giving them plenty of rope at the start, he’s travelled well before plugging on one paced. The winner and second having the turn of foot to quicken away. He’ll step up to 7f now.

18/10/22 As things start to wind down it was great to see Devil’s Angel finish off his year with a solid effort at Newcastle this afternoon. He’s won twice and accumulated just short of 25k this year including winning the ITV Sunday Series Sprint at Haydock. He’ll have a good 8 week holiday now and be ready to go again.

1/10/22 Spirit Catcher headed to Redcar this afternoon to contend the Class 2 Mile Series final. He ran an excellent race in third going down by half a length, the hood really has been the making of him and he has learnt to switch off and face witjim himself. He’ll likely have one more run prior to a break and he will duly step up in trip next year.

21/9/22 A quiet few weeks with few runners. Both Megatron & Mint Edition have now qualified for Handicap marks and also been gelded.

Devil’s Angel headed to Ayr for the Silver Cup where it ultimately proved he was drawn wrong side.Busier times approaching with all the yearling sales and runners aplenty.

21/8/22 Devil’s Angel headed back to his beloved Sandown looking to maintain his unbeaten record. He’s missed the break and with the pace not break neck as he desires it hasn’t fell apart at the finish. He’s only been beaten just over a length and in doing so showing that he can remain competitive from this career high mark.

20/8/22 Spirit Catcher headed to York yesterday where members had a fantastic day. It’s a huge privilege to have a runner at the Ebor meeting. He’s ended up further back than ideal but has settled lovely, Connor has gone to come up the rail and he’s been left a little short of room before staying on well to finish 8th only beaten 4 lengths in a 100k handicap. The hood has made a big difference to him, we will stick to the mile for now but judging by how long he took to pull up he will try 10f again before long.

18/8/22 Toussarok ran another solid race at Musselburgh yesterday finishing 5th. He owes us nothing and he’ll not have a break before coming back for the AW in January time.

7/8/22 What an unbelievable day at Haydock, to have 2 runners in a Sunday Series race and walk away with a winner is fantastic. Devil’s Angel was given a great ride by Callum Shepherd with the race ran to suit he’s probably won too well. He’ll head to Sandown now for the final.

3/8/22 Mint Edition ran another pleasing race on just his second official start. On ground plenty quick enough for him he ran green and was short of room at a crucial stage. Finishing 6th in what looked a decent novice he needs one more run to qualify for a mark.

27/7/22 Both horses have ran blinders this afternoon, firstly Spirit Catcher at Redcar with a hood fitted for the first time. Settling better and able to take a lead he’s been beaten half a length in third. Toussarok has then ran a screamer to finish 6th in a big field handicap at Goodwood continuing in fine form.

8/7/22 Toussarok wins again. Our first runner at Epsom is a winner with Toussarok taking the 6f Handicap on the card last night. Taking him to 18 top 3 places from 32 starts.

27/6/22 A disappointing effort from Golden Vintage this afternoon. Looking to be travelling well enough until 3f out she’s then struggled to pick up and PJ has eased down. We will get her fully checked over & go from there.

25/6/22 A great three days in fabulous company with our members at the Northumberland Plate meeting. Better runs than the finishing positions suggest for both Holy Endeavour and Mint Edition the former needing a step up to 10f now & the latter will improve greatly for the benefit of his first run.

We head to Pontefract on Monday where Golden Vintage steps up to 1m4f which she has been crying out for. A competitive race for the grade hopefully she can continue to show improvement.

23/6/22 Megatron made his debut at Newcastle, proving extremely colty beforehand he ran his race before getting to the start. He also didn’t appreciate the slow aspect of the surface given the recent hot weather. He’ll run in the next 10 days on a quicker surface. A huge culture shock for him he will have benefited from the experience.

22/6/22 An excellent run by Toussarok at Brighton yesterday, he really knuckled down and went down fighting by three parts of a length giving the winner 19lb! Another 2nd to add to his collection.

12/6/22 A great day had by members yesterday who despite the results at Chester had a fantastic day, you pretty much know your fate when being drawn in the car park there.

Devil’s Angel duly provided us with yet another Saturday winner by taking the 5f sprint at Sandown taking him to 2 from 2 over course and distance. A great thrill for all & a fantastic ride by PJ. He becomes our 6th winner of the year and 37th overall taking us to just shy of 320k prize money since inception 5 years ago.

30/5/22 Golden Vintage made her handicap debut at Ayr this evening. In a prominent position she looked to take the bull by the horns one out but ultimately got done for speed on the quick ground. She’s bred for a trip and we will step her up again now.

27/5/22 Toussarok toughs it out at Brighton to become our 5th winner of the year. Making all given a fantastic ride by Joe Fanning it was great to see him get his head back in front particularly after the Southwell incident. Huge thanks just go to the Johnston team.

Mint Edition went to Carlisle looking to make his debut and unfortunately despite behaving impeccably before hand spooked at the starters on the way out the stalls and gravity took Rowan out the side door. He’s fine and will make his official debut in the next week or so.

21/5/22 Spirit Catcher lined up at Haydock for the Class 2 Silver Bowl 100k Handicap this afternoon. The race itself didn’t pan out for him, being hassled for the lead they’ve gone flat out the whole way (posting a couple of sub 12 sec furlongs) once headed and ultimately beaten Joe has allowed him to coast home. One to put a line through and in typical Johnston fashion we are sure he will bounce back.

16/5/22 We headed to Carlisle with two runners on the day. First up Devil’s Angel unfortunately the deluge prior to racing turned the ground from Good to Soft which is against him. The red hood in the prelims helped but he is getting frustrated in the stalls just wanting to get on with things and therefore we will take a ticket in future.

Acoustic made his seasonal reappearance, he needed this run for a mark, he was ring rusty and is still a big baby, hopefully he will show more stepping into handicap company and with a step up in trip.

11/5/22 Golden Vintage ran a pleasing race at Thirsk on Saturday and thus qualifying for a mark. She’ll take a step up in trip going into handicap company.
We are participating in the Great British Racing Discover Ownership Day at York on Friday, if you are in attendance and would like to find out more about what we offer please do coke and say hello. You will find us on the ground floor of the Ebor stand.

1/5/22 A busy week of runners all over the country. Holy Endeavour didn’t handle the ground or track at Nottingham and came back a little sore she’ll have a gap between her next run.

Devil’s Angel headed to ascot where he looked to have plenty in his favour but boiled over in the paddock and going down to the start. That’s the second time he’s done this and we will try him in a red hood in the prelims.

Spirit Catcher ended the week at Newmarket on 2000 Guineas day. Such a privilege to have runners on a day like this. He ran a lovely race against a very nice horse of Godolphins finishing third seemingly not handling the dip as can be the case here.

16/4/22 Spirit Catcher made his seasonal return a winning one taking the Class 3 Royal Mile Handicap at Musselburgh this afternoon.

13/4/22
A brilliant day at Beverley with Devil’s Angel running an excellent 5th only beaten a length from a wide draw. Holy Endeavour lined up in the last race again being drawn wide but ran a blinder to force a dead heat.
Having missed all of last year due to a pelvis injury she really deserved to share the spoils and have another 1 next to her name.

2/4/22 Winner! Getareason headed to Ayr this afternoon for the ‘boys’ race looking to back up his LTO win. Everything looked in his favour and so it proved, given a cracking ride from Peter Coleman who works hard in the yard and deserves more opportunities. He’s won a shade cosily by a length. A brilliant day just to have a runner on Scottish National Day let alone a winner.

It’s great to see the horses running so well. With 10 top 4 finishes to start the year.

1/3/22 Astro Jakk
ran better despite a tardy start. Both horses either side came across him and he had to momentarily sit and suffer. He’s picked up and ran on well despite ending up on the wrong side and only been beaten a length and a half in the end.

27/3/22 Devil’s Angel headed to Doncaster for the opening weekend of the Turf Season. Finishing 11th he’s played up in the stalls and missed the break but only been beaten 6 lengths, that’s the second time he’s ran here and played up. We will likely avoid coming back to Doncaster with him.

25/3/22 Holy Endeavour ran another lovely race showing she’d come forward for her previous run. Finishing 3rd trying to make all she just got done for speed, she will again improve for the run and a step up in trip.

19/3/22 Getareason gets us off the mark for the year! Winning cosily in the end given a lovely ride by Nathan, he’s jumped well and travelled like the best horse in the race, he’s picked up and really quickened to the line winning by 3 lengths.

18/3/22 Golden Vintage returned to Newcastle this evening for her second start. Again over a mile she broke much better and settled lovely in front. She’s travelled well until the front two have quickened past her and she’s been done for speed (she’s bred for 12f+) not beaten far she’s ran all the way through the line and again taken an age to pull up.

We head back to Newcastle tomorrow with Getareason lining up in the 4.50.

12/3/22 Astro Jakk back down to 6f dropped out the back he was ran off his feet early, stayed on once the course straightened out, not beaten far he’s probably on his mark and would benefit from a return to a straight track, he needs things to drop right for him.

11/3/22 Getareason off a career low mark and back on his preferred good ground ran a lovely race to finish third at Newcastle this afternoon. He’ll sharpen up for that effort and despite the steady pace he jumped well on the main with the visor having the desired effect. Whilst the ground is in his favour we will enter him up again.

24/2/22 A better run from Astro Jakk finishing third at Newcastle yesterday. He didn’t quite see out the 7f in a small field.

Unfortunately Toussarok came out the stalls today with his blindfold still on as Joe didn’t manage to remove it as the horse ducked left. Extremely lucky to not be seriously injured having ran loose with the blindfold still attached. A freak accident with no one to blame.

21/2/22 A lovely weekend welcoming so many to the yards to see the horses despite the weather. It was great for everyone to see Mint Edition and Megatron in the flesh for the first time. Golden Vintage & Devil’s Angel have come out of their races well and we’re in fine form at Jedd’s. Twisted Dreams continues his recovery from injury and was on good terms with himself yesterday, Getareason looks incredible and is on target for his next race.

14/2/22 Holy Endeavour made her belated return to the track at Wolverhampton this evening, shaping encouragingly after 14 months off. Finishing 4th she found the trip and course on the sharp side for her, she’ll benefit for the run and a step up in trip.

10/2/22 Three runners on the day with Golden Vintage first up. Making her debut in the Fillies Novice over a mile. Ultimately she will want further given she’s out of a half sister to Kingston Hill, she was slowly away but quickly settled into a nice rhythm despite the hellish head wind. She’s picked up to try and get closer to the three godolphin horses whom had already stole a bit of a March on the field. She’s stayed on nicely finding the trip on the sharp side, PJ was extremely pleased with her attitude and we will give her another run over this trip for experience before stepping up.

Devil’s Angel & Astro Jakk then took each other on in the Class 3 6f Handicap. Astro Jakk went forward in a small field lacking pace and ultimately paid the price with the head wind. He’s also probably high enough on ratings. Devil’s ran an excellent race on his first run back from a break finishing third. He’ll ultimately come forward for that and we will head to Doncaster at the end of March with him.

21/1/22 Toussarok headed back to Newcastle to contest the 6f 0-85 Handicap. Taking a bump at the start in a race with a decent pace he was always on the back foot, challenging 2 out he just couldn’t quite find his stride and was beaten a length in 5th.

11/1/22 We headed to Doncaster this afternoon with Getareason the ground rode tacky and he just can’t jump or travel through it when it’s like that. We will tick him over at home until the ground dries out enough for him. He should be back out in about 6-8 weeks.

9/1/22 Astro Jakk headed to Southwell looking to back up his LTO win. Unfortunately being drawn 10 has put paid to any chance he had, ultimately being stuck wide the whole way off a fast pace he’s ran on hands and heels only beaten 2 lengths.

2/1/22 Toussarok was our first runner of the year at Newcastle this afternoon. Finishing a very pleasing third on his first run after a break. He’ll tighten up marginally for that effort and he continues to be a model of consistency.

30/12/21 Our last runner of the year WINS! Astro Jakk took the feature race at wolves this evening given a peach of a ride by Sam James. He caps off a fabulous year with 11 winners and 15 places from 68 runs for the team. We have an exciting bunch of horses for next year and we very much look forward to 2022!

10/12/21 Getareason ran a lovely race after a break and wind surgery. He will undoubtedly come on for that and will appreciate a sounder surface.

7/12/21 A pleasing run from Astro Jakk returned to the AW. Outpaced early over the sharp 5f he plugged on one paced to just take third.

3/12/21 Twisted Dreams WINS at Newcastle. After a frustrating year where nothing has really gone right for him it was great to see him get his head back in front. Travelling powerfully throughout he took it up 2 out and powered clear to win by 3 lengths. He totalled our 10th winner of the year our best to date & our 30th overall from a small string since inception.

17/11/21 A quiet few weeks with a few of the horses on breaks. Devil’s Angel has come back in from 8 weeks off and we hope to have him ready in Feb. Getareason isn’t far off a run having had a short break. Acoustic made his debut at Redcar a fortnight ago where being drawn 1 was less then ideal. Showing greenness he hung left and gave then 6 lengths. He then headed to Newcastle last Friday for more experience, he’s a big raw horse who needs further.

Our yearlings continue learning their trade at Ed Bethell’s with both colts riding away nicely. An exciting time of the year.

23/10/21 Spirit Catcher travelled to Chelmsford to attempt to follow up his win at Redcar and defy a 7lb penalty. He did all the donkey work making the running and raced alone in the straight. He’s been beaten a neck giving that 7lb to Windseeker who’d made an encouraging debut and improved for that experience. He will now be put away for the winter.

3/10/21 Spirit Catcher made his anticipated debut at Redcar yesterday and couldn’t have done it more impressively. Winning by 4 lengths, given a lovely ride by Joe Fanning who struggled to pull him up at the finish! He brings up our 9th winner of the year our best numerically, from just 10 horses in training.

Spirit Catcher winning impressively at Redcar.

Spirit Catcher winning impressively at Redcar.

24/9/21 Two runners on the day at Newcastle. First up Twisted Dreams dropping back to the mile trip, its been frustrating this year as nothin has really clicked for him, turf didn’t suit and there haven’t been many options on the AW for him. He got an early position and took the field along before fading into 6th, only being beaten 3 lengths. He never really dropped the bridle and ideally we would look to take a lead if something could break quick enough to toe him into the race.

Moonbootz finished second for the sixth time, he clearly still has the mentality that his wind will affect him despite having had it rectified. His ability is seeing him through to a point but he’s unwilling to put his head down in the closing stages.

18/9/21 Toussarok travelled to Newmarket in search of his hatrick bid. He got worked up at the start which is most uncharacteristic, he couldn’t get his desired front running position and subsequently finished second last.

TOUSSAROK

TOUSSAROK

7/9/21 Toussarok wins again! Taking him to 3 wins from his last 4 starts. An excellent ride by Silvestre De Sousa he never looked like being beaten. A huge thank you goes to the Johnston team.

4/9/21 Devil’s Angel headed to Ascot to try and back up his LTO win. Cieren was good enough when he came back in to say ‘put a line through that, I gave him a bad ride’. This is pretty harsh given the circumstances of the race, the draw has meant he’s been stuck wide, they haven’t gone a gallop and the horses we expected to make it didn’t. Devil’s also looked pretty flat, he’s been on the go a long time and he’ll have a break now before coming back at the end of the year.

3/9/21 Two good efforts from both horses finishing second and third at Newcastle. Moonbootz got back on track travelling better then he has returned to an artificial surface. Giving the winner most to do in the closing stages he was only beaten three parts of a length.

Back up in trip Twisted Dreams was seen to best effect making the running, finishing a length third.

Toussarok winning at Chelmsford

Toussarok winning at Chelmsford

26/8/21 Oisin Murphy maintains his 100% strike rate in our colours by guiding Toussarok to victory at Chelmsford under a cool ride.
What a great club horse Toussarok is, that takes him to 2 wins 4 seconds and 2 thirds this year.

21/8/21 Devil’s Angel makes it 4 wins for the year so far at Sandown this afternoon. Given a peach of a ride by Oisin Murphy the track played to his strengths and the drop to 5f didn’t inconvenience him. A career best effort and we are delighted for all involved.

20/8/21 Two runners on the day and two seconds. Toussarok went to Kempton where he was only just denied by half a length. Again proving how consistent he is, that’s a win, 4 seconds and 2 thirds to his name this year.

Twisted Dreams headed to Newcastle where he was slightly inconvenienced by the drop to 7f but kept on to finish 2nd having to give the winner 8lb.

14/8/21 Devil’s Angel headed back to the scene of his LTO win for the Greys only race this afternoon. Finishing 5th only beaten 2 lengths he remains in good form.

3/8/21 Toussarok WINS at Catterick! If ever a horse deserved to get his head back in front it was this one. He’s been ultra consistent all year. Joe Fanning gave him an absolute peach of a ride on a course that suited and really played to his strengths. A great afternoon for members.

Toussarok after winning at Catterick

17/7/21 WINNER Devils Angel wins at Newmarket! We are delighted for all involved. The track really played to his strengths and the decent pace allowed him to settle and get in a nice rhythm. He will have a freshen up and head back to Newmarket for the greys only race on August 14th.

Devil’s Angel prior to winning at Newmarket

11/7/21 Another cracking effort by Toussarok at Hamilton last night, finishing 2nd just beaten by a well handicapped horse, this was his best effort on turf for a while.

8/7/21 Toussarok ran a credible second returned to the AW at Kempton last night. He broke well and got into his usual front running position before steadying the pace up. He’s quickened turning in but ultimately been outstayed. He doesn’t quite seem to fully see out the 7f but there is no doubt he is a better horse on the AW.

Toussarok at Kempton

Toussarok at Kempton

5/7/21 We have sponsored several races at Ripon so far this summer and it was great to give some members the opportunity to attend this evenings fixture. They all had a great evening including selecting the Best Turned Out horse.

Members at Ripon

Getareason on the round gallop.

Getareason on the round gallop.

3/7/21 It was great to get members back to Rebecca Menzies this morning & to finally meet those new members that’s been restricted for so long. Getareason looks fantastic & he is declared for Worcester on Monday providing the forecast rain doesn’t all materialise. Twisted Dreams is enjoying a few quieter days out in the field.

We also had the pleasure of attending Ashbrooke Stud to see the mares, foals and yearlings. A great morning had by all.

18/6/21 Another solid effort from Getareason at Market Rasen this afternoon back in Handicap company. Finishing 4th on ground which didn’t suit, he was unable to get in his usual rhythm. He didn’t particularly enjoy going that way round so we will freshen him up and go to Cartmel in 3 weeks.

12/6/21 It was great to be back at York today with so many members. They really go above and beyond to help with the experience of the day. Devil’s Angel ran a lovely race after 10 weeks off only beaten 4 lengths in 7th against younger horses giving them weight. He will come forward for that effort and he will be out again in a couple of weeks.

4/6/21 Toussarok headed to Doncaster after a 3 month break. He broke nicely and travelled within his compass most of the way, Andrew asked him to pick up 1 out and fitness told. He blew up and Andrew duly let him come home in his own time. He will come forward for that effort.

31/5/21 Getareason lined up at Cartmel today for a 3 horse Novice Chase (2 on paper). It proved a tactical affair with him and Bannixtown Glory making her chase debut, herself a dual Listed hurdle winner, pulling well clear and getting into a dual far enough out. He’s stuck his neck out and battled all the way only being beaten half a length giving her 10lb. We are delighted with his efforts since his purchase and will look to run him again in the next 4 weeks.

25/5/21 Twisted Dreams stepped up to 10f for the first time at Newcastle, dropped in from a wide draw he raced keenly in the early stages. Eventually settling he was 2 lengths detached before picking up nicely to finish a staying on 6th, evidently given too much to do. We will look for something similar for him in the coming weeks.

15/5/21 Twisted Dreams headed to Thirsk for his second start after a break. The ground proved much too soft for him but dropped in out the back, this was the most settled he’s been in a race. He stayed on well at the end and a step up in trip beckons for him now.

1/5/21 Getareason gets off the mark over fences. An excellent display of jumping and a cool ride by Nathan despite Getareason running keen, he cruised into the lead coming up the hill and powered away to win by 4 1/4 lengths. Our first NH winner, huge thanks must go to Rebecca Menzies and the team at home. Nathan who does a lot of work with the horse at home too. We are delighted for all involved.

24/4/21 Unfortunately yesterday didn’t go to plan with Getareason being brought down at the first. He’s 100% this morning and out in the field.

23/4/21 We are extremely excited to be able to offer this stunning colt by New Bay to club members. Purchased at yesterday’s Goffs Uk Breeze Up sale for 120,000 he’s a fantastic addition to the team. He’ll go into training with Mark Johnston.

New Bay X Lidanski Colt

22/4/20 We have ONE runner tomorrow at Perth. Getareason runs at 3.15 in a small but competitive field. He wears cheekpieces for the first time to see if they eek out any improvement. He’s really learnt to settle since arriving and the track should suit.

19/4/20 We can now announce the second of our 2 year olds to the team. Purchased at the Craven Sale and thus being eligible for the elusive bonus this som of Kodiac is a really nice sort and will go into training with Richard Fahey.

6/4/20 We are delighted to add our first Two Year Old of the year to the team. A gorgeous Bay Filly by  Golden Horn out of Millevini who herself is a half sister to Kingston Hill. To be trained by Jedd O’ Keeffe and the team. A hugely exciting addition, see Our Horses page for more info.

3/4/20 Another excellent effort in defeat from Devil’s Angel. Finishing 2nd to a well handicapped horse he’s shown he’s still thriving at present. He will have a little freshen up now after 4 quick runs and likely head to Ascot in May next.

31/3/20 Getareason ran another creditable race in third yesterday. The front three pulled well clear, with the ground riding on the dead side he just couldn’t get the better of the first two. He will likely go for a Perth race next.

Devil’s Angel heads to Newcastle on Friday in search of his hatrick. It won’t be easy but he’s in good form at home.

29/3/20 Astro Jakk didn’t disgrace himself at Doncaster yesterday. Stuck on the wing he’d have preferred to be amongst horses. The ground was plenty quick enough for him and returning from a break you’d fully expect him to come forward for that. We head to Newcastle tomorrow with Getareason for the inform Rebecca Menzies team, he’s in great form at home and we’d be hopeful of a big run from him. Clondaw Caitlin will be hard to beat though.

19/3/20 Since the turn of the year we’ve had 5 of our horses run 13 times between them. Resulting in 2 Wins, 2 Seconds, 5 Thirds and 2 Fourth’s an extremely pleasing start to the year and long may the consistency continue.

17/3/20 After a quiet week we headed back to Newcastle with Devils Angel. Off a career high mark he looked to back up his last time out win which he duly obliged to do. He’s clearly improving and Megan Nicholls gets a lovely tune out of him. Delighted for members to get another win on the board and a huge thanks must go to the Jedd O’Keeffe team.

Our next runners are likely to be next weekend, where we see the return of the flat season proper. We have races pencilled in for Twisted Dreams, Astro Jakk and Getareason.

7/3/21 Getareason ran a very credible race finishing 3rd. Back over hurdles he jumped well in the main proving that good ground is imperative to him. He settled nicely and travelled supremely well into the race, just finding 3m a stretch of his stamina. He’ll be dropped back in trip next time and we’re looking forward to having plenty of fun with him through the summer.

6/3/21 WINNER Devils Angel wins at Newcastle last night, given an excellent ride by Megan Nicholls to just get up on the line. We are delighted for all involved and a huge thanks to Jedd and the team.

Getareason runs at Doncaster today, his first run over obstacles for us. He’s in good form at home and if he handles the step up to 3m we’d be hopeful of a nice run.

4/3/21 We have Devils Angel heading to Newcastle tomorrow. He’s come out of his last run in fine fettle and with a good draw we’d be hopeful he could go close (like last time) he does need things to drop right.

17/2/21 Moonbootz was eased down by Megan having choked during the race. We will get his wind looked at.

Devils Angel returned in fine form just hitting the front too soon he finished third beaten a neck. He will head back to Newcastle for a similar race on March 5th.

16/2/21 Toussarok finished second at Wolves last night, another fine effort against a highly progressive horse in Nortonthorpe Boy who we were giving 6lb. He’s now finished in the top 3 in 8 of his 10 starts.

We have two runners at Newcastle tonight, Moonbootz who is another who just keeps bumping into one. We hope he can finish his race off better with the help of the tongue tie and riding him with some restraint. The Tapeta surface suits him better and it may just be that the straight track is also a benefit. Devils Angel returns after a break and is in fine form, he has a good draw and we’d be hopeful of a good run if he gets the decent pace he desires.

9/2/21 Getareason has come out of his race yesterday where he finished 3rd fine. As with these jumpers bumpers pace can often be a problem mainly because there isn’t any. He may have another run in a race of this type in the hope that the ground will dry up soon before heading back over obstacles.

3/2/21 Our first NH runner Getareason headed to Newcastle for a jumpers bumper. Travelling nicely he finished 4th and will come on for that effort. He will likely be entered in a similar event next week.

2/2/21 Moonbootz returned to form back on Tapeta finishing 2nd at Wolves. He had plenty to find with the winner but it was nice to see him back on track.

27/1/21 Another consistent effort from Toussarok at Wolves last night finishing 3rd. He’s come out of the race fine this morning and will likely head back there in a couple of weeks.

22/1/21 After a quiet few weeks we have a couple of entries next week. Toussarok is entered at Wolverhampton on Tuesday and Astro Jakk is entered for Southwell on Thursday.

8/1/21 We are delighted to have added our first National Hunt horse to the team. Purchased privately through Megan Nicholls Getareason arrived last night at Rebecca Menzies Howe Hills yard. Rated 134 he’ll be campaigned over hurdles and fences.

5/1/21 Toussarok ran another credible race at Lingfield yesterday. Finishing third trying to make all, he spread a plate just before the bend which hindered his chances there after.

1/1/21 We ended 2020 with 5 winners matching the previous years total. Given we have only ever had 8 horses in training at any one time & two remained unraced including the challenges of Coronavirus, we are delighted for all involved.

We are very excited to be expanding the club in 2021 adding a further two horses to the team and thus offering 5 and 10 horse packages. We are also adding a National Hunt horse to the club in which we hope will add an extra dynamic.

4/12/20 Astro Jakk wins again! Stepping back up into Class 3 company he showed his confidence is high by gamely hanging on by a nose. Another great ride by Megan Nicholls and a huge thanks to the Burke team. We’ve equalled last years tally of winners and given the year we couldn’t be more delighted for all involved.

20/11/20 WINNER Astro Jakk gets his head back in front at Newcastle this evening, appreciating the step back up to 6f and away from the fibresand at Southwell, he broke and travelled well given a peach of a ride by Megan Nicholls to win at 50/1!

11/11/20 Holy Endeavour got off the mark at the fourth attempt in the fillies novice at Newcastle last night. Showing great tenacity she made all and stuck on gamely at the finish. A great ride from Megan Nicholls utilising her previous experience she beat the well regarded Turandot by 3/4 length.

4/11/20 Another solid effort from Twisted Dreams last night. In a competitive class 5 stepping into 0-75 company he finished 3rd. The race possibly came a week too soon and we will decide whether we give him one more run before putting him away for next year.

27/10/20 Twisted Dreams backed up his LTO win with another at Newcastle last night. This time over a mile battling gamely to win by a neck, he showed a great attitude and we hope he can continue improving.

16/10/20 Holy Endeavour ran another nice race at Redcar today on ground far from ideal. Finishing 3rd behind two very nice sorts she will have a break now with next year in mind.

13/10/20 Flavius Titus ran another of his better races for us last night at Wolverhampton finishing a close up 6th. A typical Wolverhampton hard luck story where he didn’t take the opportunities stall 1 offered. Slowly away he lost his position and ended up shuffled back to last. He ran on past horses and offered encouragement he was coming back to form off this much reduced mark. He heads to the Tatts HIT sale at the end of the month.

8/10/20 What a brilliant evening at Newcastle last night. Twisted Dreams lined up in the 7f handicap and duly got his head in front. Patience is a virtue and it was a pleasure to see him win for all involved. He’ll continue to progress and a step up in trip looks on the cards for him next.

5/10/20 We have one runner today. Toussarok heads to Pontefract for the Dianne Nursery, he is bred to appreciate underfoot conditions and it’s hoped he can improve again on his third last time.

26/9/20 Two excellent efforts by both horses last night. Holy Endeavour took a step forward from debut finishing 2nd. She ended up on the far side and having not gone quick enough in the early stages she stayed on under hands and heels. Devil’s Angel ran a great race to finish 2nd also just beaten a head. He travelled well and made up ground to pull upsides but Lucky Lodge was not for passing.

25/9/20 Two runners head to Newcastle this evening. Holy Endeavour lines up in the 7f fillies novice. Having made a pleasing debut it is hoped she can take a step forward this evening. Devil’s Angel lines up in the 6f Handicap at the end of the card. An excellent run last time finishing 3rd at Redcar, he returns to the scene of both his wins and it’s hoped he’ll be bang there at the finish. Megan Nicholls rides both,

16/9/20  Holy Endeavour made a very pleasing debut at Beverley today. She took everything in the preliminaries in her stride, which isn’t a surprise given her fabulous temperament.

In what is probably one of the hottest fillies’ novice events contested at Beverley for some time, she broke well from a wide draw and ended up being a little keen around the bend while also showing some greenness. She will undoubtedly come on for the experience and we look forward to seeing her progress into next year.

15/9/20 A day of Thirds with Toussarok returning to form at Yarmouth. Devils Angel lined up at Redcar in a competitive handicap, stuck out on the wing he travelled well before possibly hitting the front too soon. He will head to Newcastle next week where he looks to become a three time course winner.

8/9/20 Twisted Dreams headed to Newcastle this evening to make his handicap debut. He’s still a work in progress and is thriving from the experience of each run. He was narrowly denied by a neck only being beaten by a well handicapped horse. He will further improve from that experience and we look forward to having some fun with him over the winter.

21/8/20 We have Tough Remedy heading to Wolverhampton this evening. He hasn’t been at his best since racing resumed, failing to build on his good third at Kempton back in February the last three times he’s seen action. He was scheduled to run at Haydock but refused to go into the stalls though through no real fault of his own, with the handlers pulling his bridle off and rather upsetting him as a result. He has been good as gold at a stalls test since, and Becky will be down at the stalls with him on this occasion to get him loaded without a hitch.

He has excellent claims on the pick of his form and being refitted with cheekpieces and having Andrew Breslin back in the saddle can only help. There seems to be a reasonable amount of pace on so hopefully he can put it all together here, with stable form much improved since he last raced.

6/8/20 Devils Angel headed to Ayr yesterday where the ground was described as soft, it was evident after the first race it was much worse then that. The ground then changed to heavy prior to race 2 and he hated the ground.

29/7/20 Twisted Dreams headed to Thirsk this evening. He needed this third run to qualify for a mark and he showed clear promise finishing 4th not beaten far. Given a lovely educational ride from PJ McDonald we will await his mark before stepping back up to 7f.

09204ca7-11fe-4f0d-be50-52f597711de2.jpeg

25/7/20 Both Twisted Dreams and Devil’s Angel are non runners today with the forecast rain having not materialised.

24/7/20 We have two runners at Doncaster tomorrow weather depending. Both would need the forecasted rain to fall. Twisted Dreams runs at 4.55 this will be his third run which is needed to qualify for a handicap mark.

New horse Devil’s Angel runs in the 5.30 if he can transfer his latest winning form to turf then he’d be in with a shout.

6/7/20 We have two runners today. Tough Remedy heads to Ayr with Kevin Stott riding. It’s evident he isn’t as good on turf but with few options on the AW it’s forcing our hand to run. He is well at home and as long as he has a bit of luck and can stay the trip hopefully he could finish in the frame. Twisted Dreams heads to Thirsk this evening with Megan Nicholls riding. Haydock was a huge culture shock for him, he has come on both physically and mentally for that and hopefully he can show improvement for that experience tonight.

1/7/20 Flavius Titus again ran well without finishing in the frame yesterday. Wearing cheekpieces for the first time he travelled well for the first couple of furlongs before becoming evident he needs stepping back up to 7f.

21/6/20 Flavius Titus ran well without finishing in the frame in an ultra competitive affair. Finishing 13th Holly felt he’d benefit from the application of headgear which is what we’ll try next, possibly at Doncaster next week.

Tough Remedy had no race at Kempton after the horse in front took a false step Dan rightfully took a pull then the horse lost all momentum and he looked after him. With little AW options looking feasible we will have to go back onto turf from which he has a 9lb lower mark. Hopefully regular rider Andrew Breslin will be back in time to be reunited for his next run.

18/6/20 We have two runners on Saturday with Flavius Titus firstly heading to ascot in the process of becoming our first Royal runner! A competitive race as you’d expect he’s got a good draw and Hollie Doyle rides. Hopefully he’ll strip fitter for his return and a top 10 result would be excellent.

Tough Remedy heads to Kempton where he’d put in one of his best efforts for some time back in March before lockdown. If he gets a decent pace which he relishes then hopefully he can be bang there at the finish.

11/6/20 Moonbootz headed to Wolverhampton yesterday and made a good impression when battling a John Gosden horse all the way to the line. Ultimately being beaten a short head it was a great effort and we are delighted for all involved.

338cb907-413d-402a-82ac-87c0e539eb85.jpeg

10/6/20 Both Twisted Dreams & Moonlight Echo shaped better than their finishing positions suggest. Twisted Dreams broke smartly and tracked the leaders racing keenly in amongst horses, he was green turning in and rolled about a bit on the ground. Cam looked after him and let him come home in his own time. It was a bit of a culture shock for Twisted and well look for a similar race in due course. Again Moonlight Echo broke well and raced a tad freely in the early stages, sitting in behind the leaders she tried her heart out for 6f before finding the last furlong a bit much, either due to fitness or she just didn’t stay 7f. Both horses have come out of their races sound which is the main thing.

7/6/20 It was always going to be a hard first week back. With competitive races, bad draws and most needing their first runs back. All 3 horses have come out of their races safe and sound which is the main thing.

We have Twisted Dreams declared to make his debut for Rebecca Menzies and ourselves. He runs in the first division of the 7f Novice, it’s been a long time coming to see him debut a gorgeous horse we would be delighted with a top 5 finish. Cam Hardie rides.
Moonlight Echo runs for Richard Fahey in the second division of the same race. A difficult filly to train who’s had a few niggly little problems, it’ll be great to see her on the track again a top 5 finish would be brilliant. Tony Hamilton rides.
We also have Moonbootz declared to make his debut for us and Karl Burke at Wolverhampton on Wednesday. PJ McDonald rides.

3/6/20 Not Tough Remedy’s day yesterday. Having got upset at the start, they haven’t gone quick enough for him in the race itself and he’s travelled a bit too well. He will undoubtedly come on for that and we’ll find another suitable race for him soon. He looked fantastic beforehand.
We have Flavius Titus declared for Newmarket on Friday in the Class 2 6f Handicap with Megan Nicholls taking the ride. He’s well at home and we are looking forward to him donning our silks first the first time. We also have Landing Night declared for Newcastle on Saturday again with Megan taking the ride. Another who is well at home having had a break, he could have gotten a kinder draw but it’s hoped there will be a decent pace for him to aim at. Two entries next week include Twisted Dreams and Moonlight Echo at Haydock on Tuesday.

30/5/20 Tough Remedy will be our first runner back having been declared for Newcastle on Tuesday. He faces 11 rivals for Rebecca Menzies and the team and Megan Nicholls rides.

We have also given Flavius Titus an entry for Newmarket on Friday in the Class 2 6f handicap.

27/5/20 We have entered Tough Remedy for the 1m handicap starts Newcastle on day 2 of the planned resumption. Rebecca Menzies has been very happy with him and he seems in good form at home. Flavius Titus has also been given and entry in the Class 2 6f Handicap for Jedd O’Keeffe. He will also get an entry for Newmarket next Friday with that being the preference. Megan Nicholls has sat on him at home and is very pleased with him. Both horses are looking fantastic.

Meg & Flavius Titus

Meg & Flavius Titus

26/5/20 With racing hopeful of resuming on Monday we have today entered Landing Night for the 3.30 Longbenton Handicap over 5f.

5/5/20 Our horses are continuing training and are looking fantastic. We look forward to the resumption of racing when deemed suitable.

16/4/20 A quiet time given the current climate. Our horses have all remained in training and we thank the staff for their hard work in maintaining their care and fitness.

Tough Remedy & Nathan Moscrop

27/2/20 A cracking effort from Tough Remedy last night. It was great to see him run back to form with an excellent 3rd. Only beaten 3/4 length, he now qualifies for the London Series Mile final and we may we’ll go back to Kempton for another of these qualifiers. He’s virtually guaranteed a decent pace which he needs and Kempton suits his running style.

24/2/20 We have declared Tough Remedy for Kempton on Wednesday. It’s his first foray into 0-80 company for a while and being a London Series Mike Qualifier we feel it’s worth letting him take his chance. He has a bit to prove currently but undoubtedly would be well handicapped on old form. He’s tried in cheek pieces for the first time and Andrew Breslin rides.

12/2/20 Twisted Dreams is now back cantering and he looks fantastic. It is huge credit to Rebecca Menzies and the team to get him back to this point after injury.

70ada649-95b9-45ce-8720-93b2cd33f509.jpeg

25/1/20 A brilliant morning had by all at Rebecca Menzies this morning. Twisted Dreams looks fantastic and will commence ridden work next week coming back from injury. Huge credit to the team for his care. Tough Remedy worked 2nd lot and members got to see him go up the gallop twice, before heading to the tack room for some Buck’s Fizz and cakes! We then had a tour of the yard and got to see Tough Remedy and Landing Night turned out in the field.

public.jpeg

14/1/20 It was great to see Tough Remedy back on track, the weather was dire but he looked a picture. It was great to see him jump and race with enthusiasm. He was pitched wide and lost his position coming round the bend but did stick his head down and run to the line, which is what we wanted to see. He will undoubtedly come on for the run after 5 months off and his likely next race will be Kempton in feb.

11/1/20 Tough Remedy has been declared for Wolverhampton on Monday. Andrew Breslin takes the ride for the Rebecca Menzies team. This is his first run for the yard. We brought Remy home for a break and felt a change of scenery may do him good. He looks fantastic but until he runs we won’t know if any fire has been rekindled.

9/1/20 An enjoyable afternoon at Newcastle catching up with members and meeting new ones. It’s always fantastic to see people’s reactions when they come racing as an owner for the first time. Landing Night ran well again having been drawn on the wrong side. All the action was coming down the stand side, he will have a break now ready for the turf. We have Tough Remedy entered at Wolverhampton on Monday. Flavius Titus gets picked up tomorrow to head to Jedd O’Keeffe’s. He’s done well for a break and we are very much looking forward to getting him back on course. Our Pearl Secret colt left AC Pre Training this morning heading to Karl Burke’s to start his next stage in becoming a fully fledged racehorse.

2/1/20 Happy New Year! We start 2020 with all the excitement anticipating what’s to come. We have an exciting bunch of horses for 2020, including our trio of 2 year olds. Flavius Titus our 97 rated sprinter & a pair of unraced 3 year olds. To go alongside firm favourites Landing Night and Tough Remedy.

Our first stable visit of the year is scheduled for Rebecca Menzies yard on Jan 25th. If you’d like to attend please contact us to secure a place.
We also have Landing Night entered at Newcastle next Thursday in a 0-70 5f handicap. This will be his last run prior to having a break ready for the turf season starting.

28/12/19 That’s a wrap! Landing Night became our last runner of 2019 at Wolverhampton yesterday and finished another respectable 3rd. We’ve been delighted to welcome new members over the Christmas period and with our best squad for 2020 we are very much looking forward to the future.

15/12/19 Another 4th for Landing Night at Newcastle. He’s not been beaten far in the end but as it’s planned out he’s probably just ended up on the wrong side of the track at the finish. He’ll head to Wolverhampton on the 27th.

13/12/19 We head to Newcastle tomorrow with our last runner of the year and it’s good old Landing Night!. He drops into 0-65 company for the first time and Ben Curtis takes the ride. He’s drawn in the middle and this should ensure he’s able to get cover, he is better when being dropped in.

8/12/19 Another great run by Landing Night with little option but to go forward after breaking well from a wide draw, 6f just stretched him in the end. He just got pipped for 3rd. He’s been given an entry for Newcastle on Saturday back over 5f, this will be his last run before having a break over the festive period. He’ll have ran 18 times this year and so far he hasn’t finished out the first 5 on 12 of those starts! He absolutely loves life and it’s evident to see.

7/12/19 Landing Night heads to Wolverhampton this evening for the 6.50 6f Handicap. We’re giving him a try over 6f as he may just get away with it round there, although he doesn’t have the best of draws. If they go a decent pace and he can finish off hopefully he’ll run a nice race.

23/11/19 What a horse Landing Night is he never knows how to run a bad race. A great effort to finish 3rd given a bad draw. He is a great fun horse for the club and all the members love him. He thoroughly enjoyed his day in the paddock despite the rain.

IMG_2988.jpeg

20/11/19 We have declared Landing Night for Newcastle on Friday. He faces 10 rivals and is drawn 1. Clifford Lee rides.

18/11/19 We have entered Landing Night for Newcastle on Friday for Rebecca Menzies and the team.

10/11/19 We have spaces available at our yearling visit on Sunday 8th December at AC Breaking and Pre Training. With options available to get involved in ownership from £100pm for 4 horses making this the ideal Christmas Gift. Including Owners Badges, Member Days, Prize Money and much more.

5/11/19 Flavius Titus is enjoying some down time out in the field. It’s a great option that we can give our horses variety.

IMG_2108.jpeg

2/11/19 What a brilliant night we had last night at Newcastle for our member evening. Great to host members and we reckon there’d have been a few sore heads this morning. Landing Night ran a blinder under a great ride from Megan Nicholls to finish 3rd.

IMG_1718.jpeg

30/10/19 We have today declared Landing Night for Newcastle on Friday for Rebecca Menzies and Megan Nicholls takes the ride. It’s a bumper 9 race card featuring the Group 1 Vertem Futurity trophy. We look forward to hosting members in our hospitality box for the evening.

29/10/19 Today we said goodbye to Insania who went through Tattersalls sales this afternoon. She’s given us great fun this year winning twice and being placed. As well as taking us to some of the bigger meetings. Having been an 11k purchase it was nice to get a 19k profit for members with her selling for 30k. We hope her new connections have as much fun with her as we did.

25/10/19 A good day had by all at Goffs Uk yesterday, it was great to catch up with members and for them to see what goes on at a sales. We are down to the 1 week countdown to our member evening at Newcastle, where we will hopefully have Landing Night running.

15/10/19 Landing Night heads to Wolverhampton on Thursday where he faces 10 rivals for Rebecca Menzies and the team. PJ McDonald takes the ride.

Insania is unable to take up her engagement at Leicester due to the meeting being abandoned today. She heads to the HIT sale at Tattersalls at the end of the month.

12/9/19 We are hugely excited to also be able to offer members access to The Racing Manager just one of the many benefits of being involved in Titanium Racing. Check out theracingmanager.com to see more about how it works.

9/10/19 🚨We are delighted to strike at Tattersalls Book 1 for this beautiful Holy Roman Emperor filly, a half sister to Listed winner Missed Call from a good Juddmonte family. Huge thanks to Creighton Schwartz Agents too. An exciting time to get involved with us. She’s also eligible for the Book 1 bonus!🚨

Holy Roman Emperor X Incoming Call

Holy Roman Emperor X Incoming Call

9/10/19 Landing Night sadly got balloted out of the Newcastle race this evening, but he holds an entry at Musselburgh on Monday and will also receive an entry for Wolverhampton next Thursday.

4/10/19 Another credible effort from Landing Night finishing 4th given an aggressive ride from the front. He stuck on well but was duly beaten by some progressive sorts and one coming back to form. He holds an entry at Newcastle next Wednesday.

public.jpeg

1/10/19 Landing Night has been declared for Wolverhampton on Thursday he’s drawn 9 of 11 and Clifford Lee takes the ride. Insania has also been given an entry for Pontefract on Monday.

28/9/19 We have given Landing Night an entry for Wolverhampton on Thursday.

public.jpeg

19/9/19 A valiant effort from Landing Night today. He broke far too well and when they split into 2 groups he’s been left with no cover and too much daylight. He has finished 11th only beaten 6 lengths. In doing so he haven members another great day out.

18/9/19 We head to day one of Ayr’s western meeting with Landing Night bidding to follow up his last time out win. He lines up in the 0-70 5f handicap on the card & gives members the chance to attend another big meeting. He remains in good fettle and on his current mark he still looks well handicapped on old form. He does however have to prove he can back his win up, with a field of 20 runners he will also need plenty of luck to fall his way. Ali Rawlinson takes the reins for the first time we feel he’s the type that will suit the horses running style also.

13/9/19 A great day had by all at Doncaster yesterday. Delighted to welcome so many members to see Insania line up in the Carrie Red. She looked a picture before hand, Mark & Sophie had her turned out to perfection. She’s jumped and travelled well in behind the leaders before Clifford asked for an effort just before the 1f pole. She’s came there with every chance and looked like taking a hand but her effort petered out in the final 100 yards just finding the extended 6f too far. She finished 8th and gave members another great day out at another big meeting.

public.jpeg

11/9/19 Tomorrow we head to Doncaster for day 2 of there St Leger meeting. Insania who has been an absolute star for us all season goes to post in the Carrie Red 50k Nursery at 2.10. Clifford Lee rides for Karl Burke and the team. She comes into this off the back of a win at Leicester last time, she’s drawn bang in the middle and we’d have preferred to be a bit wide. Fingers crossed she can run another consistent race for all involved.

9/9/19 We have Titanium Grey declared to make his debut for us on Wednesday at Carlisle. He is our first runner for Jedd O’Keeffe and the team, PJ McDonald rides. He will most certainly benefit from the experience, it’s all a learning curve for him & being drawn 15 of 15 won’t do him any favours.

4/9/19 Landing Night WINS! What a great afternoon at Catterick. Romeo as he’s known at home is a firm favourite with club members and he certainly didn’t let anyone down yesterday. Given a great ride by Clifford Lee he stuck to the far rail like glue and this certainly paid dividends going on to win by a neck! It’s been a while since he last won, given he was off a career low mark it was certainly great to see his head back in front. W

public.jpeg

2/9/19 Landing Night heads back to his beloved Catterick tomorrow in the 5.40. If things go his way he’d be bang there at the business end. He needs a fast pace to be seen to best effect but everything else is in his favour. Fingers crossed for another good run from him.

22/8/19 INSANIA WINS! Insania added another win to her CV this evening at Leicester taking the fillies nursery in tenacious fashion. Given a great ride by Clifford Lee she battled on well to outstay the rest of the field.

8/8/19 We have our latest stable visit organised for Rebecca Menzies yard on Saturday 7th September. We will have the opportunity to see our horses there Landing Night & Twisted Dreams have a look round the stables and see the horses on the gallops. We have limited spaces available so if you’d like to attend get in touch via the contact page to book your space.

public.jpeg

2/8/19 An excellent day in excellent company at Goodwood yesterday to see Insania. It was a real privilege to attend such a meeting, she performed with credit against some big scopey individuals where she didn’t see out the extra distance.

public.jpeg

We head to Chester on Sunday with Tough Remedy he wears blinkers for the first time and has another attempt at 1m2. The ground is currently soft and shouldn’t be a problem to him he’s been a bit disappointing of late on turf but some horses are just better on the AW and he is one of them as his ratings suggest. Andrew Breslin takes 5 off and gets on well with him.

27/7/19 An exciting entry next week, we have Insania entered for the Class 2 25k Nursery at Goodwood over 7f. This is hugely exciting to even have an entry for such a meeting.

25/7/19 Landing Night ran another good race to finish 4th on ground which didn’t suit. He’s travelled well but lugged left in the closing stages which ultimately cost him finishing closer. He seems very well in himself and there are a few options upcoming for him.

21/7/19 Insania what a little star she is. She has such a lovely temperament and loves all her adoring fans giving her as much attention as possible. She was beautifully turned out by Elise. She’s broke well and tried to make all, when the others came to her she’s stuck her neck down and battled back like a terrier. She has a brilliant attitude. She’s only been beaten half a length in finishing 4th to a highly regarded filly.

18/7/19 We headed to Catterick yesterday to see Landing Night line up in the 4.30 race. A much better run in a first time visor ensured 4th place. He has come out of the race fine and will hopefully head back to Catterick next week.

Tough Remedy runs at Hamilton this afternoon, PJ rides. He has to carry top weight and also prove as effective on turf. If things fall his way he may be able to pick up the pieces.

Insania has been declared for Doncaster on Saturday where she makes her handicap debut. She’s had a little break since her last run and hopefully she can show some further improvement. It’s a year since her half brother Swissterious broke his maiden tag at Doncaster for us on this card.

public.jpeg

15/7/19 Landing Night has been declared for Catterick on Wednesday. He’s drawn 1 and Clifford Lee takes the ride. He’s dropping into a 0-75 and looks well handicapped on paper. He’s not been seen to best effect of late with things not dropping right for him one way or another. We try him in a visor for the first time to see if that helps. He still retains plenty of his enthusiasm at home. Tough Remedy holds an entry at Hamilton on Thursday and Insania holds an entry at Doncaster Saturday.

10/7/19 A couple of entries upcoming next week. Tough Remedy has been entered in the Class 2 1m 81-100 Handicap at Ayr on Monday. Landing Night will also get an entry for Catterick next Wednesday. Insania isn’t far off returning after having a little break to freshen her up, she had 4 very quick runs and that won’t have done her any harm. We also look forward to some more of our 2 year olds making their debuts in the coming weeks.

24/6/19 Our quiet time comes to an end with Tough Remedy declared for the prestigious Carlisle Bell on Wednesday. He is drawn 2 and PJ rides. He’s shown good form on the AW and he needs to transfer his consistency to turf. He needs a lot to fall right and with a bit of luck he will hopefully run a nice race. We look forward to seeing members there! We head to Newcastle for the opening day of the Northumberland Plate meeting where we look forward to entertaining members for the day.

11/6/19 A quiet week ahead with no entries but lots to look forward too. We still have 4 of our 2 year olds to debut, we are hoping Twisted Dreams will make his debut at Newcastle on the Thursday of the Northumberland Plate meeting over 6f. We have the pleasure of also being able to host members in our hospitality box on the day too.

7/6/19 We have one runner tomorrow with Kodi King heading to Haydock to make his Handicap debut under Clifford Lee. It’s a very competitive race on paper and he’ll have to step up dramatically to figure.

4/6/19 Tough Remedy headed to Newcastle in our very own Megan’s sponsored race for her 30th Birthday. They’ve gone very hard early and he’s been scrubbed along from the get go to keep tabs on them. He doesn’t really have a turn of foot he just gallops. He’s possibly seen too much daylight but he has stuck his neck out all the way to the line to finish 5th. The first 3 home quickened up best and the winner looks to be an improving horse.

1/6/19 A lovely day spent with members at Musselburgh, Landing Night looked a picture thanks to Jackie & Team Howe Hills. We were a little concerned about the ground but we thought we’d let him take his chance. They’ve gone a decent pace which he needs and he’s travelled well but Cam couldn’t quite get him in behind for cover. He’s seen too much daylight from that draw and possibly the ground hasn’t helped so much. Well freshen him up a bit and look for something suitable for him.

31/5/19 Tomorrow sees us head to Musselburgh with Landing Night lining up in the 4.55 & Cam Hardie riding. He may be up against it but it doesn’t look the strongest Class 3 Handicap and if we can pick up any of the 20k prize money we’d be delighted. He needs an awful lot to go right for him and he’s been running well without getting much luck. It’s great to see the Rebecca Menzies team in such good form at the moment too, as a valued member of our team.

28/5/19 Insania ran another good race at Redcar this afternoon finishing 2nd. She possibly broke too well and did too much too soon. She’s hung left in the closing stages but couldn’t quite manage to concede 7lb to Bella Brazil who won by 3/4 Length. We will freshen her up before the nurseries start.

26/5/19 After a quiet few days we have a few entries upcoming next week. Insania is entered at Redcar on Tuesday, Kodi King is entered to make his handicap debut at Carlisle on Friday. Landing Night will get an entry at Musselburgh for Saturday.

Our new Kodiac filly has settled in well at Richards and I’m sure you will agree with how well she is looking!

The newly named Twisted Dreams (Twirling Candy X Sweet Promises) continues to progress and he shouldn’t be far off making his debut.

Twisted Dreams

21/5/19 Redcar was yesterday’s racecourse of choice with Insania looking to back up her win at Thirsk. She had a penalty to carry against some sizeable colts and geldings. We are very lucky to have horses in yards with excellent staff who turn out to a very high standard and yesterday was no exception. Thanks to Elise and Sophie. She’s jumped well out the stalls and sat in behind horses, which is the first time she’s been able too. Cliffords nudged her along as she showed a little sign of greenness still. She’s then picked up the bit and travelled well in behind, but every time they’ve gone for a gap the doors closed, she’s been beaten a neck given the winner 2lb and has lost nothing in defeat.

18/5/19 A lovely day at York with some fabulous people. We are very lucky to have such a lovely bunch of members. Tough Remedy looked great a huge thanks to Kirsty and the team who put in some hours driving to and from the courses and making sure the horses have everything they need. We were stepping up in trip and running on the quickest ground he’s ever encountered. He duly hated it, the ground was far too quick for him and well probably stick to the AW until we have some rain! Landing Night went to Thirsk this afternoon and Cam Hardie took the ride. They’ve split into 3 groups and the horse he’s ended up tracking just hasn’t gone fast enough for him, he’s then also been drawn on the wrong side. We’d put a line through that.

16/5/19 A busy few days beckons, starting at York tomorrow. It’s very exciting to have a runner at such a prestigious meeting as the Dante meeting. Tough Remedy runs in the 3.35 taking a step up to 10f for the first time. It’s a Class 2 Handicap and he’ll have to both prove he can stay and be competitive taking on some superior opposition. We then head to Thirsk on Saturday with Landing Night. Insania also holds entries on Monday.

11/5/19 Kodi King finished 4th at Nottingham yesterday. He was a tad keen early and being drawn on the wing he couldn’t get any cover. He’s now qualified for handicaps and hopefully we can find something suitable for him in the coming weeks.

10/5/19 One runner tomorrow with Kodi King travelling to Nottingham for the 6f Novice. The drop back to 5f last time didn’t suit and he should be more at home over this trip. Hopefully he can show some progression before qualifying for handicaps.

8/5/19 Another cracking run from Landing Night at Wetherby. He broke well and ended up pitched wide from a bad draw. He’s travelled well the whole way, probably too well on ground which wouldn’t necessarily be his optimum. He finished 3rd and adds more prize money into the pot! He will hopefully head to Thirsk on the 18th.

7/5/19 Landing Night makes a quick reappearance at Wetherby. He ran a very good race in defeat at Newcastle on Good Friday, but things didn’t really fall his way on Saturday at Thirsk, not getting the clearest of runs and unable to hit top stride until it was all too late. Obviously stall 10 isn’t ideal, but he’s tremendously well within himself at home and we’d be hopeful of another good run.

5/5/19 An excellent day at Thirsk yesterday with our first 2 year old winner of the year! Insania is the ultimate professional who has a lovely temperament and attitude. Clifford Lee gave her a great ride and she won by 2 and a quarter lengths! It was great to have so many members there to see her too. A huge thanks to Karl Burke and the team!

Insania heading into the winners spot.

Insania heading into the winners spot.

We can also add another new horse to our 2019 team! A Kodiac filly purchased at Tattersalls Breeze Up Sale on Friday. She heads into training with Richard Fahey.

IMG_6870.jpeg

3/5/19 We head to Thirsk with 2 runners tomorrow. Insania looks to improve on her satisfactory debut at Beverley. She could have been better drawn but with any amount of improvement you’d like to think she could finish in the top 3. Clifford Lee takes the ride for the Karl Burke team. We top and tail the card with Landing Night featuring in the 5.25. Andrew Breslin takes the reins for the first time. The Rebecca Menzies team have him looking great at home and if he gets his vital fast pace you’d be hopeful of another good run from him, after an excellent 2nd at Newcastle last time.

26/4/19 2 runners on Monday with Fortunate Move making her handicap debut at Southwell in the 2.10. She’s a light framed filly who has just now started to come to herself. She’ll have to show considerable improvement to figure, Connor Murtagh takes the ride. Tough Remedy runs in the 4.25 at Newcastle with PJ McDonald riding. It looks a competitive affair with just 8 runners. As long as he gets his much needed fast pace to aim at we hope he could figure at the finish.

Landing Night enjoyed his lunge morning yesterday & he looks fantastic. We hope he will head to Thirsk Saturday week.

Landing Night

Landing Night

26/4/19 We had an excellent day at Beverley yesterday, it’s a very welcoming course and it was lovely to see some of the members and catch up after Friday. We had one runner on the card in the 1.40 Fillies Novice over 5f. Insania who is a half sister to Swissterious whom we had last year was making her debut. What a pro she walked round the paddock like she’d been doing it all her life - nothing fazed her! She went down to the start, loaded and broke well. Unfortunately being drawn widest as we were is the worst place to be at Beverley. She’s ran all the way to the line and been beaten little more then 4 lengths. Ultimately she will improve for the run and given a better draw will surely finish a lot closer.

Insania at Beverley

We ended the day with a new horse! Goffs Uk held their Breeze Up sale yesterday. We were very lucky that Rebecca Menzies was there and managed to snap up a striking son of Twirling Candy, whom we have duly taken on board. He’s a fine stamp and we will let him settle in before making any further plans for him.

23/4/19 What a weekend! We had a fantastic day at Newcastle on Friday in our box. The day was rounded off by Landing Night running a very pleasing 2nd finally getting a decent pace to aim at! Kodi King wasn’t suited by the drop to 5f and he will step up to 6f next time. We were also delighted to be able to raise £1500 for Racing To School! Thank you to all who donated and bid! Landing Night has been put up 2lb this morning to a mark of 74. We have a couple of options for him in a fortnights time. Insania has also been declared for Beverley on Thursday and will be our first 2 year old runner of 2019!

17/4/19 Friday sees us head to Newcastle for our Annual Member day! We have a box full and look forward to welcoming everyone to an exciting day. We have a auction and raffle to raise funds for Racing To School, an excellent charity who solely relies on donations and possibly doesn't get enough recognition within the industry. We also have the added bonus of 2 horses running on the day with Kodi King taking his chance in the 2.10 Novice race over 5f, Lewis Edmunds rides. Landing Night runs in the concluding 5f Handicap on the card for Rebecca Menzies with PJ McDonald riding.

14/4/19 We headed to Newbury yesterday with Tough Remedy. He’s a horse who needs things to go his way and nothing did. They went no pace and he isn’t a huge fan of being crowded so a big field isn’t ideal. We didn’t really learn anything and I’m sure he will be out again soon.

11/4/19 An exciting weekend in store with Tough Remedy declared to run in the 50k Class 2 Spring Cup Handicap at Newbury on Saturday. This will be his biggest test to date and has been drawn 18 of the 27 runners.

11/4/19 We are very proud that Plumette became our 12th winner since starting out and this taking us over the 100k mark in prize money. Baring in mind we only have 8 horses at any one time we don’t think that’s bad going! It’s a pleasure to share this journey with so many enthusiastic members.

10/4/19 Tough Remedy holds two entries at Newbury on Saturday. In the 50k Spring Cup and also the 0-90 10f Handicap which concludes proceedings.

We are also looking forward to our start of season member day next Friday which is being held at Newcastle Races in our box. We are also holding a raffle/auction with proceeds going to Racing To School who are a much under sung charity. They provide educational days at the races for school children and do a fantastic job.

6/4/19 After a quiet time of things we headed to Leicester yesterday with Plumette lining up in the seller there. After being shuffled back she duly made late headway and went on to win! It was great to see her get her head in front by 1/2 a length! As the race was a seller she was bought after the race and we wish her connections the very best of luck going forward.

Plumette after winning at Leicester.

Plumette after winning at Leicester.

1/4/19 Kodi King made his long awaited racecourse debut yesterday. He behaved very well in the preliminaries given his first outing. He broke well at the start and travelled strongly in the early stages in a hot looking Novice event. He tired in the closing stages but finished a respectable 5th beaten 6 lengths. He may well be better suited to running over 6f on slightly better ground in the future.

17/3/19 A disappointing start to the week with Plumette running below par. She wasn’t sound the next day so we will see how she goes. Fortunate Move ran as expected. Another good run from Tough Remedy on Saturday. Finishing 4th beaten 1/2 a length, he wasn’t 3 lengths off the whole field in last turning for home - making up a lot of ground in the final furlong. The draw effectively beat us and he has come out of the race fine.

12/3/19 It may be day 1 of the festival but after a quiet couple of weeks we have Plumette running at Wolverhampton this evening. She was slightly disappointing last time stepping up to 7f. She never really settled and was ultimately not out stayed. The winner of that race finished 2nd over 1m1 on Saturday. She drops back to 6f this evening and PJ rides, she has an impressive 2 time winner With Caution to beat but she gives us a stone. It would be great to see her get her head in front but whether that is today we will have to wait and see.

We head to Lingfield tomorrow with Fortunate Move, she face she just 2 rivals. She isn’t ultimately running for a mark, handicaps will see her in a better light. She showed improvement last time over 7f after breaking early and showing plenty of zest, she also drops back to 6f, Paddy Mathers rides.

We also have Tough Remedy entered at Wolverhampton on Saturday.

28/2/19 We have Plumette entered at Wolverhampton on Monday over 6f.

22/2/19 Plumette ran another good race in 2nd at Wolverhampton. She broke well and raced keenly which possibly dented her chances at the finish.

21/2/19 Tough Remedy ran a career best stepping into Class 2 company at Chelmsford. Beaten 3 lengths by a good horse in Matterhorn he travelled nicely off the pace before staying on to take 2nd.

20/2/19 Fortunate Move showed great improvement on her second start last night. Breaking well she showed a lot of early speed before showing signs off greenness towards the finish. We will look for another race for her likely over 6f which will then qualify her for a handicap mark.

17/2/19 A busy week with a lot of entries beckons. We head to Wolverhampton on Tuesday with Fortunate Move, she takes a marked step up in trip to 7f for her second go on a racetrack. She shaped with promise on her debut staying on at the finish. Handicaps will likely see her in a better light. Barry McHugh takes the ride.

Tough Remedy holds 2 entries on Wednesday at Chelmsford and Newcastle respectively. Plumette holds an entry at Chelmsford Wednesday and Wolverhampton Thursday.

8/3/19 In light of the current circumstances with the outbreak of Equine Influenza we have cancelled our stable visit to Rebecca Menzies yard on sunday. Our horses are our number one priority and with extra bio security measures in place we won’t put them at risk. We will look to organise at a safer date. There is no racing until 13th Feb at the earliest and our thoughts are with all the trainers and staff in trying to contain this outbreak.

3/2/19 Landing Night has been declared for Newcastle on Tuesday for Rebecca Menzies and PJ McDonald takes the ride. He faces 9 rivals and is drawn 3. He needs a lot to fall right and to be held up off a strong pace. Hopefully things can go our way and he could sneak a place.

28/1/19 A quiet week beckons with no entries our next runner isn’t likely to be Landing Night on the 5th Feb at Newcastle.

We have stable visits organised for Rebecca Menzies on Feb 10th, Jedd O’Keeffe and Karl Burke’s on March 23rd. If you are interested in attending any of the above please get in touch to secure your place.

24/1/19 A pleasing debut from Fortunate Move who showed plenty of greenness through the race. She stayed on nicely at the end and the experience will have done her the world of good. You’d expect to see her out over 6f next time.

23/1/19 We head back to Newcastle on Friday to see Fortunate Move make her debut for Richard Fahey. It was a real kick in the teeth when she fractured her pelvis on our stable visit last March. I must say a huge thanks to the Fahey team for their time and patience with her. Hopefully she can run a nice race, she faces 7 rivals and Clifford Lee rides.

13/1/19 What a start to 2019! A great evening at Newcastle yesterday with Plumette running a fantastic race on debut finishing second. She was beaten half a length by the favourite who boasts solid form. You’d like to think with improvements forthcoming she’d go close next time. The following race saw Tough Remedy line up in a race which didn’t suit pace wise but he duly dug deep and won by a length. He won his first race on this card 12 months ago and last nights success took him to 4 wins in 12 starts. A lovely horse for all involved and great to have so many members there last night.

10/1/19 After some slightly frustrating runs with nothing going our way we head to Newcastle on Saturday with 2. Plumette makes her debut in the 3yo Novice over 6f for Richard Fahey. It’s her first day at school and we’d be hopeful that she can run well and anything else would be a bonus.

Tough Remedy lines up in the 0-95 over 1m facing 5 rivals, a lack of pace would be an inconvenience but again you’d have to hope he can run a nice race. PJ McDonald rides both.

28/12/18 After a few days rest over the Christmas period we kick off with Landing Night at Southwell tomorrow, he lines up in the 1.45 and Clifford Lee rides. We are hopeful that he can run a nice race tomorrow with some pace in the race allowing him to take a nice lead in. If things go his way we’d like to think he could finish in the top 3.

We also have Tough Remedy entered at Lingfield on Monday over a mile.

15/12/18 We headed to Newcastle today for Tough Remedy lining up in the 3.50 race. Our concern was the lack of pace on the race and ultimately this is what did us. He broke well and sat just behind the leader, they absolutely crawled and then quickened it up 2 out which isn’t what we want. Remy also pulled a hind shoe off. This is a run to totally write off and we will find something else for him in the coming weeks.

13/12/18 Tough Remedy has been declared for Newcastle on Saturday. He steps into Class 2 company for the first time. He faces 4 rivals and PJ McDonald takes the ride. It will end up a tactical affair with so few runners but you’d be hopeful that he can run a nice race given the step up in grade. There doesn’t seem to be much pace in the race which wouldn’t necessarily suit but given he’s the only 3 year old in the field he could find the required improvement.

We also have some membership heading to the pre training yard to see how’s our yearlings have been getting on. We have been very happy with their progress and they will head into their training yards after Christmas.

11/12/18 Landing Night headed to Wolverhampton last night, they went no pace which is pretty crucial he finished 7th beaten 3 lengths, he will head to Southwell next Friday more then likely.

23/11/18 A great day yesterday with Landing Night running a fantastic race to finish 5th beaten 2 lengths in the Class 3 at Newcastle. Tough Remedy then lined up at Wolves last night and duly won beating the short priced fav. Andrew gave him a great ride and we are delighted. He brings up our 8th winner of the year!

21/11/18 Tomorrow we head to both Newcastle and Wolverhampton. Landing Night lines up in the 4.35 at Newcastle with PJ in the saddle. Tough Remedy heads to Wolverhampton in the 8.00 with Andrew Breslin keeping the ride.

We are also pleased to welcome Jedd O’Keeffe to our training roster for 2019. We are hugely excited to be involved with a fantastic set up and team.

19/11/18 We have a couple of entries so far this week. Landing Night after his excellent run at Southwell last week on return from a break, will hopefully head to Newcastle on Thursday. Tough Remedy also holds an entry on Thursday at Wolverhampton.

9/11/18 We head back to Doncaster tomorrow for the last day of the turf flat season. We have Tough Remedy lining up in the 11.45 Apprentice Race with Andrew Breslin keeping the ride.

27/10/18 Tough Remedy makes it a wining trip to Doncaster! Given a great ride by Andrew Breslin he was slowly away but soon in touch, he met with trouble in running a couple of times before storming down the outside to win. He fully deserved this win after some niggles early on in the year.

25/10/18 It was disappointing to see Swissterious fail to fire for a second consecutive time at Newcastle on Tuesday, but he was rather caught out wide and it appeared the place to be during the evening was the stands’ side. Other than that there were no real excuses and it could just be he has had enough for the season.

Tough Remedy will be in action on Saturday on the Vertem Futurity Trophy card at Doncaster. He lines up in the concluding apprentice handicap and will be ridden by Andrew Breslin. Hopefully the run at Ayr a couple of weeks ago will have tightened him up in all departments and the straight 7f at Doncaster should play to his strengths.

22/10/18 Unwritten had every chance at Catterick on Saturday but was soon done with once headed.

Swissterious looks to bounce back from a muted effort at Redcar when tackling the AW qualifier at Newcastle tomorrow evening. It could well have been he raced on the ‘wrong’ side of the track last time and a repeat of his second to Khaadem at Doncaster would put him in with a real chance. Clifford Lee once again takes the ride.

18/10/18 We headed to Newcastle last night to see Quantatmental line up in the 5.45. PJ got him into a nice rhythm in front and with ears pricked he took them into the straight in front, he just lost his position in the final furlong. In that grade he just doesn't have that final finishing kick of some of the others. Unwritten, Quantatmental and Swissterious all hold an entry in the HIT Sale at Tattersalls at the end of the month.

Unwritten heads to Catterick on Saturday, where we hope he can bounce back from a low-key effort at Ayr.

16/10/18 Tomorrow sees Quantatmental bid to follow up his recent Wolverhampton success in the second race at Newcastle. He was given a well-judged ride from the front on that occasion and has been put up 5lbs for that victory. Repeating such tactics at a course like Newcastle along with that rise won’t make life easy, but hopefully he can run well.

We’re delighted that PJ McDonald is fit and ready to ride him again after his injury.

05/10/18 It wasn’t to be on Tuesday at Ayr, with Tough Remedy unsurprisingly looking rusty, closing up late having never been involved. He should be a lot more competitive when we next see him.

Unwritten faded from prominence and will now be off to the sales.

Tomorrow sees Swissterious tackle the valuable Two Year Old Trophy at Redcar. It looks a typically competitive renewal, but he certainly deserves his prominent position in the market given what he has achieved so far. Any rain would help and it’s not difficult to envisage him being very well suited by a well-run race over six furlongs. Fingers firmly crossed that he can do himself justice. He will be ridden by Clifford Lee once again.

Quantatmental goes to Wolverhampton in the evening. It’s fair to say has been a little disappointing since his hard-fought win at Haydock in June, though the course wouldn’t have played to his strengths at Chester and Haydock last time will have come soon enough. Ali Rawlinson will take the ride.

01/10/18 Following a period of relative inactivity since the Leger meeting, things certainly pick up this week for the club.

Tomorrow sees the long-awaited return of Tough Remedy in the 4.20 at Ayr. It is a 0-90 handicap over seven furlongs and looks the ideal opportunity to re-introduce our son of Tough As Nails. After eight months off, it is only to be expected that he’ll improve on whatever he does, but hopefully he can acquit himself with credit and give us something to look forward to for the autumn and winter months.

35 minutes later Unwritten contests the 10f 0-85 handicap on the same card. He showed his first bit of form this season when a good third at Doncaster last month and we can hope he can build on that, though it’s a shame the ground won’t be as testing as it was for the Western meeting last month as he evidently enjoys plenty of give underfoot. He has been eased 4lbs pounds in the weights which can only aid his cause as it looks a decent contest for the grade.

Clifford Lee will ride both horses.

13/9/18 Swissterious ran a tremendous race in defeat at Doncaster yesterday. Settled in behind the leaders, he travelled nicely and came through a gap to challenge eventual winner Khaadem a furlong out, making that rival fight but beaten a little over a length at the line. He has a few options in the coming weeks, including the Two Year Old Trophy at Redcar.

Unwritten heads to Town Moor tomorrow for a classified event, bidding to get his career back on track after a rather stop-start 2018. The ground hasn’t been in his favour for much of the season and it’s likely conditions will also be lively enough for him tomorrow, although showers are forecast and it’s already riding on the slow side of good. Hopefully he can show something akin to his 2yo form.

11/9/18 Swissterious heads back to the scene of his win for a 6f conditions event at Doncaster tomorrow It’s a competitive little event, with the Charlie Hills-trained Khaadem sure to be well fancied.

9/9/18 French Sonnet heads to Leicester on Tuesday for a seller. She is inat  the sales at Doncaster on the 19th September so this will almost certainly be her last run for Titanium whatever happens. We hope she can step up on her muted debut effort.

UPDATE: French Sonnet has been pulled out of today’s race.

23/8/18 It wasn't to be for Swissterious yesterday at York, but there were plenty of reasons to be positive. He didn't settle fully and then got involved in something a duel for the lead, that telling inside the final furlong as he faded into fifth. It's likely he'll step back to 6f for his next outing, with a conditions event at Doncaster's St Leger meeting on the agenda.

21/8/18 Swissterious has been declared to run in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York tomorrow. It looks a reasonable enough field without there being any Group form to speak of, and we'd hope 'Swissy' can go well.

12/8/18 French Sonnet heads to Ripon tomorrow for her debut outing. She'll be ridden by Clifford Lee.

27/7/18 A fantastic 48 hours for the Club, with Landing Night deservedly getting his head back in front under PJ McDonald at Musselburgh on Tuesday afternoon, and then two-year-old Swissterious making it third time lucky in emphatic fashion at Doncaster in front of several happy members on Thursday evening.

It was wonderful to see Landing Night resume winning ways after some frustrating reversals, finally getting both the decent ground conditions and good pace he desires, finishing well from off the speed  to collar Super Florence in the dying strides and score by a neck. For all the plan was initially to put him away for a autumn/winter campaign, he's so fresh and well that we will look to crack on with him. Full credit to Becky and all the staff at Howe Hills.

Swissterious duly delivered on the promise he had shown on his previous outing at Wolverhampton- and more - when running out a 4-length winner over some well-related/highly-regarded sorts. He used his experience to sit handy and travelled through smoothly to lead two furlongs out, forging clear inside the final furlong. He has earned a crack at a higher level and we will hopefully have an update on his next target very soon.

18/7/18 On Saturday we headed to Chester with Quantatmental who finished fifth. He couldn't get into his stride and didn't feel comfortable on the track. He will stick to more galloping tracks in the future. Today we have Landing Night due to run at Catterick. However we will make a decision after the first race as to whether he takes his chance after the course had 32.5mm of rain fall on Monday.

8/7/18 We headed to Haydock yesterday with Unwritten lining up in the £100,000 1m6f Handicap. It was a fact finding mission in a sense as he's never ran on ground as quick as it is currently. He travelled well to a point and then just couldn't go on on the ground. He will get dropped by the handicapper for that so hopefully we can find a race for him in the near future.

5/7/18 A busy week so far with Swissterious running at Wolverhampton on Monday and a great run it was. He stepped up to 7f and duly finished 2nd showing improved form from his debut. He has come out of the race fine and we will look for something for him soon. Landing Night went to Musselburgh yesterday and finished 2nd ( I hope we don't have seconditus!) running a cracking race  trying to give the winner 22lb!

27/6/18 After a quiet few weeks things are starting to pick up again. We have Quantatmental declared for Newcastle on Friday evening.  This includes ITV Racings  first broadcast of the Friday of the Northumberland Plate meeting.

7/6/18 Quantatmental followed up his Beverley win by taking the opener at Haydock this afternoon! Given a cracking ride by PJ from the front he just held on by a nose! So pleased for all involved!

1/6/18 We head to Musselburgh tomorrow with Landing Night lining up in the 4.55 race. Rowan Scott takes the ride, Landing Night has been in good form at home and we are looking forward to seeing how he gets on.

20/5/18 Another great run from Landing Night at Thirsk yesterday finishing 2nd! He may head to Musselburgh on June 2nd next. He's a huge credit to Rebecca Menzies and the team.

16/5/18 WINNER WINNER Quantatmental only went and WON! With a cracking front running ride from PJ! Huge thanks go to the Tom Dascombe team who get us off the mark for the turf season. We were particularly pleased to see Kev pick the trophy up as he only joined a few weeks ago, has already been racing 3/4 times  and been in the winners enclosure each time with a couple of 2nds/3rds and now a winner! Which is what its all about.

32579817_1993073527393753_4849866633872670720_n.jpg

15/5/18 PJ was happy with Landing Night yesterday who ran another cracking race to finish 3rd. He will more then likely head to Thirsk on Saturday. Today we head to Beverley with Quantatmental in the 1m4 handicap.  We will learn more after today we suspect. We also have Swissterious entered on Friday at Hamilton.

Romeo2.jpg

9/5/18 We are starting next week with a few entries including 2 on Monday. Landing Night has been given an entry at his beloved Catterick,  and Quantatmental has received one for Wolverhampton

5/5/18 Landing Night ran a great race under Rowan Scott at Musselburgh to finish 4th beaten a length! He will likely head to Thirsk next on 19th May.

2/5/18 Landing Night has been declared for Musselburgh races on Friday, Rowan Scott rides. He won at Musselburgh last season and if things went his way  he'd run well.

30/4/18 A good weekend was had by all of our members who were able to attend the races. It started off with Unwritten finishing 3rd at Haydock. After a few little setbacks which had prevented him making his return earlier, it was great to see him back.  He will benefit for the run and we'll hopefully see him back out again in the near future. Normandy Blue then ran a cracking race on his return to turf at Doncaster in the evening. He heads to Tattersalls on Friday for the HIT sale. We then went to Wetherby yesterday to see our new horse Quantatmental, he was stepping up to 1m6f for the first time we were all delighted with his 3rd place. He obviously stays well and will appreciate better ground. It's likely he may be stepped u to 2m in the future.

26/4/18 Landing Night was not declared for Doncaster on Friday, we will wait for Musselburgh on Friday 4th May for him. Unwritten has been declared for the 1.30 at Haydock on Saturday he is trained by Karl Burke and will be ridden by PJ McDonald. He faces 3 rivals. Normandy Blue has also been declared on Saturday for Richard Fahey he runs in the 7.15 at Doncaster again PJ rides.

24/4/18 We have lots of entries over the weekend starting with Landing Night at Doncaster on Friday for Rebecca Menzies. We then have Unwritten entered to make his seasonal return at Haydock and Leicester then we have Normandy Blue at Doncaster on Saturday evening. We then have Quantatmental making his debut for us and another trainer to add to our team in Tom Dascombe he is entered at Wetherby on Sunday.

22/4/18 We had a lovely morning at Richard Fahey's and the sun made an appearance! Unfortunately during our visit Fortunate Move had an incident while cantering. She cracked her pelvis and will miss the season. It's a huge shame but she will be given plenty of time to recover.

20/04/18 It's been a quiet start to the turf season with the weather and so many abandonments. We can now announce a new horse member of the team, Landing Night trained by Rebecca Menzies has joined us for the season. He is currently rated 78 and will take in some decent handicaps, hopefully giving members some great days out along the way. He may run next week.  We also have options for Unwritten's seasonal return. Sunday see's us head to Richard Fahey's for our stable visit to see how our Heeraat filly is getting on she has now been named Fortunate Move. We're looking forward to welcoming everyone there.

01/4/18 Unwritten has been declared at Pontefract on Tuesday, where he will face just two rivals. It looks an excellent opportunity for him to make a winning return but, unfortunately, heavy ground and the threat of further rainfall means that the meeting is in severe doubt (an inspection is scheduled for 9am tomorrow).

Thankfully, there are two or three other options for him in similar events later in the month, so his return to action shouldn't be too long in coming should the card at Pontefract indeed fall victim to the elements.

26/3/18 The Flat season is well and truly underway now.  We have lots of entries this week with Normandy Blue in at Wolverhampton on Thursday and Newcastle on Friday. Swissterious is set to be our first 2 year old runner of the year, he holds an entry at Bath on Friday and will likely receive one for Musselburgh on Saturday. Unwritten will also receive an entry in the EBF High-Rise Novice Stakes at Pontefract on Tuesday 3rd April. There is no better time to get involved so take the plunge and get in touch for more details.

21/3/18 Unwritten is hopefully not far off making his seasonal return in the next few weeks. He has received an entry for the Oppenheim Union - Rennen (Group 2) at Cologne on the 17th June.

10/3/18 Members enjoyed a day out at Karl Burke's Spigot Lodge base, where they got to meet Unwritten and our two-year-olds by Kodiac, Poet's Voice and Swiss Spirit.  All being well, Unwritten will make his return to action on the 3rd April at Pontefract in the High-Rise Novice event - a race Karl won in 2013 with subsequent Derby runner-up Libertarian. Sadly, as he's now a gelding, Unwritten won't be following in his footsteps, but we hope it will provide the springboard for a successful season for the son of Poet's Voice.

The Kodiac colt was the subject of upbeat reports, with him hopefully being ready to roll once the 6f events come around from mid-May onwards. The Swiss Spirit colt is expected to be a slightly more precocious type and, as such, ought to be ready enough to hit the track next month.

We'd like to thank Karl and his staff for taking the time to show members their horses and around the yard.

5/3/18 We are into the final countdown to our Karl Burke visit which takes place this Saturday. For anyone who would like to attend please get in touch to confirm  and for details.

2/3/18 Street Sensation has been declared for Southwell on Sunday. He takes a step up to a mile and into handicap company for the first time. He also wears blinkers and Paul Hanagan rides.

13/2/18 Normandy Blue was disappointing last night. Paul felt he was going to pick up before being checked and he basically downed tools. He's the type of horse who cant be ran back quickly so we'll look for something in a few weeks and try some headgear on him. It may just be a case of he doesn't like an artificial surface but we will see.

10/2/18 We have Normandy Blue declared for Wolverhampton on Monday evening. He takes his chance in the 5.40 1m1f Handicap under Paul Hanagan, he's drawn 2 which is a benefit however he does need to step up on his last effort.

1/2/18 The form of Tough Remedy's win at Newcastle is working out well with the 2nd finishing a close 2nd at Lingfield over the weekend, the 3rd winning at Kempton last Friday and the 4th winning at Newcastle last night.

25/1//18 Normandy Blue ran at Kempton last night. He was always towards the rear and never looked like troubling the leaders. The track and trip didn't look to suit and we'll go back to the drawing board with him.

22/1/18 Normandy Blue has been declared for Kempton Park on Wednesday the race is now at 6.15 due to the Novice race being split. He has been drawn 3 of 11 and PJ McDonald rides.

20/1/18 We have Normandy Blue entered at Kempton Park on Wednesday evening. He holds an entry in the 5.45 over a mile it's also a London Series Mile Qualifier.

16/1/18 Tough Remedy has been raised 7lbs for his win on Friday to a mark of 84.

12/1/18 Tough Remedy WINS! Tough Remedy made a winning return at our local track tonight. He made the trek from Belstane to Newcastle worthwhile, he looked an absolute picture in the paddock. He travelled well in behind the leaders and stayed on well all the way to the line. He did show some greenness in the closing stages and there's surely some improvement to come from him. He holds an entry over 7f back at Newcastle next Wednesday for which he'd carry a 6lb penalty for tonight's victory. We'll see how he comes out of the race before making a decision.

Street Sensation is learning with each run, we will see how the handicapper assesses him before giving him a step up in trip.

10/1/18  We have our first runners of 2018 at Newcastle on FridayTough Remedy takes his chance in the opening race on the card, it's his first run back from injury so we will know more after his race. He has to shoulder 10st 1lb against his 6 rivals. PJ McDonald takes the ride. Street Sensation runs in the 7.45 6f Novice race on the card, PJ again takes the reins. This is a step up in class and trip for him and we will surely see him in a better light once faced with handicaps.

5/1/18  We have our first stable visit of the year pencilled in for Saturday 10th March  at Karl Burke's. We will have the opportunity to see Unwritten, and our now 2 year olds, Kodiac Colt, Poet's Voice filly, Swiss Spirit Colt. If you'd like to get involved in ownership and would like to attend to find out more please get in touch via our contact page!

4/1/18  With a quiet period over Christmas and New Year we can now begin the countdown to the forthcoming Flat Season. The Kodiac X Throne colt has settled in well to Karl's and he is pleased with his progress. He will soon be joined by the Poet's Voice X Bahama Mama filly from pre training. The Swiss Spirit X Mysterious Girl colt and Heeraat X Fortunately filly will remain in pre training a little longer but continue to progress well. We are putting some dates together for our first stable visits of the year. There is no better time to get involved, why not get in touch via the contact page to find out more! Its more affordable then you think!

22/12/17 Merry Christmas to all our members, trainers and stable staff. Here's to an exciting 2018 ahead!

6/11/17 Our first member evening was a great success. We all had a fantastic night, we're  looking forward to many more. The food was excellent and we were able to watch the racing via our own private balcony. Newcastle also held their first Fireworks display to end the evening. A great spectacle.

25/10/17 Not a bad start to the week with Normandy Blue finishing 3rd in the first at Pontefract on Monday before Unwritten finished a pleasing 5th in the Listed race, he likely wants further now but we will put him away for the winter and there has been talk of races like the Melrose at York for him next year. Skito Soldier showed well for a way on Tuesday and finished 7th he is another who'd likely benefit for a step up in trip. Both Normandy Blue and Skito Soldier hold an entry in the Tattersalls Horses In Training Sale next week.

18/10/17 We have what looks to be a busy week upcoming on the runner front. Normandy Blue has been given an entry in the opening race on Pontefract's card on Monday a 0-75 1m Nursery. Unwritten could become our first Listed race runner on Monday. He has been given an entry in the Silver Tankard Listed Race over 1m however he will only run if the ground is suitable. Skito Soldier has been given an entry at Newcastle on Tuesday in a 7f Novice race.

29/9/17 Both Normandy Blue and Skito Soldier run tomorrow. Normandy Blue heads to Ripon for the 2.35 and Skito Soldier heads to Haydock for the 4.25. Fingers crossed for good runs from both.

29/9/17Unwritten WINS! The ground was heavy at Pontefract yesterday but this didn't inconvenience Unwritten at all. He was drawn wide but he got himself into a nice early rhythm and quickly made ground up on the leaders. Travelling nicely in behind the front 3, PJ soon pulled himout to challenge before striding away to win by 9 lengths!  We are delighted for everyone involved!

26/9/17 Unwritten has been declared for Pontefract on Thursday. He faces 7 rivals and has been drawn 8 of 8, PJ takes the ride. Unwritten finished a pleasing 4th on debut at Hamilton if he can show improvement and step forward on that run, we'd be hopeful of him running a nice race.

25/9/17 Lineofintelligence has been declared for Redcar on Wednesday and Tony Hamilton takes the ride. It looks a hot race with a Godolphin horse partaking but as long as he shows some improvement from Chester I'm sure we'll be satisfied. We also have Unwritten entered on Thursday at Pontefract and both Normandy Blue and Skito Soldier entered on Saturday.

19/9/17 Our 4 new yearlings have gone LIVE on the Our Horses page, check them out! We have some great new ownership options available for the year ahead. Get in touch to find out more.

15/9/17  We have some exciting new ownership options and new yearlings to be revealed next week! If you would like to be added to the mailing list and find out more please get in touch via the contact page.

13/9/17Tough Remedy has been taken out of the race this afternoon and wont run. The ground has gone very testing and we don't want to risk him.

11/9/17 Tough Remedy has been declared for Carlisle on Wednesday he has top weight but Rowan Scott takes a nifty 5lb off. It looks a competitive race and we're hopeful of a good run.

03/09/17  continued...  We had a great day at Rebecca Menzies Owners Open Day. This included a parade of all horses, a look round the yard and facilities, lunch, a raffle and an auction. This was all in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Becky and the team did a fantatsic job and the horses were turned out beautifully. The total raised came to a whopping £6,000+! A great achievement. Desert Way looked in top form and we will hopefully see her on track soon.

03/09/17 Normandy Blue ran an encouraging race at Chester, sticking to the task well to take second in an admittedly average contest. He has been handed a workable opening mark of 67 for nurseries and we hope to see him continue his progress in that sphere.

Skito Soldier was a little disappointing at Beverley last Sunday. He was never really travelling with any fluency and, for all he took third, he was receiving 10lbs from that first two taking into account Clifford Lee's 3lb claim. It may be the case that easier ground will see him in a better light.

We are currently finalising plans for the likes of Lil Gem, Tough Remedy and Desert Way, who is fully recovered after her issue at Ayr. The first two named should be seen in the latter part of this month, all being well.

24/8/17 Normandy Blue has been declared for Chester on Saturday. He faces 7 rivals and has been drawn 7, David Nolan rides. This is his last run to qualify for nurseries,  which we hope will see him in a much better light.

Desert Way has been back in light work over the past few days and seems to have no ill-effects from her atrial fibrillation. Hopefully this was as hoped a one off.

23/8/17Unwritten  has been declared for Hamilton on Friday evening. He faces 7 rivals and Ben Curtis rides. He will need the run and will  certainly come on for the experience. We are looking forward to him getting his career on the track underway. It looks a tight maiden on paper with the Keith Dalgleish horse likely to go off favourite.

21/8/17 Unwritten has been given an entry at Hamilton on Friday evening to make his debut. Normandy Blue has been given and entry for both Chester on Saturday and Beverley on Sunday. Skito Soldier has also been given an entry at Beverley on Sunday.

21/8/17  A new week in Titanium HQ after a fantastic weekend for our trainers! Including a 1-2 for Karl Burke in the Group 1 Prix Morny with Unfortunately winning against Havana Grey. If you are looking to get involved in ownership and would like to find out more details check out the contact page to find out more!

19/8/17 Normandy Blue ran at Wolverhampton yesterday against some nice types on paper. Sammy bounced him out and he found himself upside the odds on fav vying for the lead. He travelled well until push came to shove and he weakened to 6th. He is now 1 step closer to getting a mark to be able to run in nurseries. He will find these much easier. He did win Best Turned Out which is a credit to the staff in the yards who look after these horses day in day out. It's really great to see their work recognised.

16/8/17 Normandy Blue has been declared for Wolverhampton on Friday with Sammy Jo Bell booked to ride. 8 have been declared.  We have been drawn 3. Hopefully he can show some improvement from Doncaster last time.

14/8/17 PJ eased right off Annie today and effectively pulled her up. She was examined by the vet immediately afterwards and found to be suffering from atrial fibrillation. Basically her heart was out of sync. She was allowed to travel home where she arrived back late and was settled down by the team at Becky's, she had a comfortable night and it rectified itself over night. The vet recommended a couple of easy days before bringing her back into work. Sometimes it can be caused by horses being too fit but it is unlikely to happen again.

12/8/17 Desert Way aka Annie has been declared for the 4.45 at Ayr on Monday. She faces 10 rivals and PJ rides, it looks an open contest for being a Class 3 and hopefully she'll give it her best shot once again.

11/8/17  Gem was taken off her feet at Musselburgh this afternoon but tried to stay on, we will see what we do next with her. Skito Soldier made a very pleasing debut at Haydock this evening. He travelled kindly but as expected ran green in the final furlong hanging in behind the favourite and eventual winner Exhort. He will come on plenty for that and was given a Timeform rating of 75 after the race. We will look for something suitable in the coming weeks for him.

9/8/17 We have both Skito Soldier and Lil Gem declared on Friday. Skito Soldier goes to Haydock for their evening meeting which includes a music night with Olly Murs. His race is 6.45 and has 7 declared it looks a nice starting point for him, however he will come on for the experience. Lil Gem heads to Musselburgh for the first race of the day. We have the services of Rowan Scott who takes 5 off as with a class 6 nursery it isn't the best of races and we'd be hopeful she can show some improvement for the step into this company.

Desert Way has been given an entry at Ayr on Monday. She's been well at home and we'd like to think she could run well and back up her last time out win. Phil Andrews a local photographer was in at Becky's yesterday morning and got some great shots of Annie on the gallops.

7/8/17 We had a great day with members at Doncaster on Saturday. Normandy Blue was late coming into the paddock and when he entered he had a good look round and was slightly on his toes. There was a big crowd and a lot to take in for his first trip away, we have no doubt that mentally today's experience will bring him on a hell of a lot. He loaded fine and jumped well he struggled from stall 14 to get him in amongst horses, he stayed on at the finish. The winner looked quite smart and the comments after were that he's just a big baby with a little more growing to do. We feel he's more then capable of picking up handicaps down the line after a step up in trip.
